Call Forwarding - Variable/Unconditional
Call Forwarding - Variable/Unconditional allows you to dial a special code to have your calls redirected from your telephone number to another telephone.
How to Use Call Forwarding - Variable:
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. Push *72 on your touchtone phone (1172 for rotary phone). Again, listen for dial tone. Now, when forwarding calls to a local number, dial that 7 digit number (Call forwarding will begin after a slight pause). If you are forwarding calls to a long distance number, dial 1 + the 10 digit number. No answer is required for Call Forwarding to begin.
If there is no answer, or if the line is busy, hang up and repeat the previous steps. Upon customer request, call forwarding variable/unconditional can require someone to answer at the forwarded number. Also upon customer request, once you have activated Call Forwarding, the phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. You can still make outgoing calls from this phone.
How to Cancel Call Forwarding Variable:
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. Push *73 on your touchtone phone (1173 for rotary phone). Listen for two beeps. Call Forwarding is now deactivated and calls will ring on your phone.
If you have the Speed Calling Feature, you may use your Speed Calling codes when you are programming your Call Forwarding calls. The subscriber will pay additional toll charges when forwarded to a long distance number.
