What We Do

BEK Sports burst forward with a bold launch in 2007.  Driven to provide the best in live local high school sports, BEK Communications invested in a state-of-the-art mobile television production studio.  At first, BEK Sports’ focus was competitive games of rival teams from South Central North Dakota.

During the winter of 2008, the first state-wide BEK Sports event hit TV screens when 11 telephone cooperatives/companies partnered to carry the State Class B Wrestling Tournament from the Bismarck Civic Center.  The following summer, BEK Sports aired the North Dakota Shrine Bowl games for the very first time, live from the FargoDome.

The summer of 2009 brought BEK Sports even more expansion to include live coverage of not only the Shrine Bowl games, but also the Lions All-Star games.

Thanks to BEK Sports’ broadcast partners, almost 180,000 North Dakota homes received these games live.

This is only the beginning.

BEK Sports expanded again heading into the 2010/2011 high school sports season.  Expansion this time did not just mean a few state-wide events.  It meant expanding from five broadcast partners to ten!                                                                                                                                                                              BEK Sports' has continued its growth over the past 3 seasons, expanding its number of games covered to over 200 in the 2012-2013 sports season and almost 200 in the 2013-2014 season. There is no where to go but up for the BEK Sports Network.
